I became a director of the club a couple of years ago and it has been a pleasure to see some of the achievements our club has celebrated. I find it incredibly inspiring to see the discipline these young gymnasts show in their training and performance every day and as a director of MGCE, I am very proud of each and every one of them.

The most important part for me is the sense of teamwork and family - from the gymnasts themselves, from the coaches and helpers, from the admin staff and board; and just as importantly, from the parents. Like all not for profit organisations, we rely heavily on our parent volunteers to keep the club running and I would encourage anyone who can help in any small way, to please do so.

I joined the club in August 2025 and have really enjoyed becoming part of the team and getting to know our members. As a club director, I'm involved in the management and running of the club, as well as being a trustee of the Unified Sports Centre charity, which works in partnership with the club.

I've particularly enjoyed being involved in the refurbishment of the gym, which began at Christmas, and seeing the positive changes take place.

Volunteers are a huge part of what makes the club special. We're lucky to have a fantastic parent volunteer committee, whose support is invaluable, and we're always keen to welcome more parents and volunteers to get involved.

I first became involved in the club as a parent. My daughter was a gymnast at the club for many years and it was great to see the enjoyment she had being part of such a wonderful club and taking part in the sport that she loved. I became a director of the club when a need for some financial help was highlighted, and as my background revolves around finance, I thought that this was my chance to give a little bit back to a club that had provided so much enjoyment for my daughter.

My gymnastics knowledge is very small, however I do have experience in finance, and that is where the majority of work for the club will be done.
